In my recent letter (21 January, p 241) I had hoped to clarify a statement made by Dr W F Whimster (5 November, p 1322) concerning the number of citation records covered by the Institute for Scientific Information. Unfortunately, I inadvertently compounded the issue. My last statement in the first paragraph should have read "So a more up to date figure for our files is now about 150,000,000 citations."
