Of the trio, the most important one was Francisco Zuniga. He visited San Francisco and we spent many hours chatting about art, color, philosophy and politics. He gave me a book written about him and signed it "To my friend". This irritated his family for he was not allowed friends outside of the family circle. It coincided with my marriage. Perhaps this was the way of life. However, were I to attempt a career in art and stay married, the result would have been disastrous and detrimental to all concerned. With limitations imposed by wives, a friendship was born.
